How to upgrade firmware on A-01s

You can upgrade the firmware on your A-01s using either an Android or iOS device. We recommend using an Android device as the upgrade time is significantly faster.

Android

To upgrade your firmware using an Android device, perform the following steps:

  1. Download the latest Audeara Android application from the Google Play Store.
  2. Log in using your Audeara account information.
  3. Ensure the headphones are fully charged and paired with your device in the Bluetooth settings.
  4. If paired correctly, the app will connect to your headphones and prompt you to upgrade your firmware version.

Note: The upgrade usually takes 20-30 minutes. You can continue to use your headphones and device during this time if the app is running in the background. On some devices such as Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9, the upgrade must be performed using the same low energy communication protocol as iOS devices which significantly increases the installation time. If you cancel the upgrade at any time, it can be resumed from the same position by performing the steps above.

iOS

To upgrade your firmware using an iOS device, perform the following steps:

  1. Download the latest Audeara iOS application from the iTunes App Store.
  2. Log in using your Audeara account information.
  3. Ensure the headphones are fully charged and paired with your device in the Bluetooth settings.
  4. If paired correctly, the app will connect to your headphones and prompt you to upgrade your firmware version.

Note: The upgrade usually takes around 8 hours. This is significantly slower than most Android devices because the iOS app is forced to use a low energy communication protocol. For this reason, we recommend performing the upgrade overnight while your device is on charge. You can continue to use your headphones and device during this time if the app is running in the background. If you cancel the upgrade at any time, it can be resumed from the same position by performing the steps above.
