How to fix intermittent audio in one or both Audeara Buds

If the audio in your Buds are cutting in and out (or if sound only comes through one side) this guide explains the common causes and how to fix this.

Why does this happen?

Intermittent audio can be caused by the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) “hearing itself.”

Here’s how:

  • There are microphones inside your Audeara Buds which constantly listen for outside noise to cancel out.
  • If your ear-tip doesn’t form a tight seal within your ear, sound from the buds can leak back into those microphones.
  • At louder volumes, ANC can mistake that sound for external noise and accidentally cancel part of your music or audio.

This can result in audio jumping between sides, cutting out briefly, or feeling inconsistent.

How to fix this:

The solution is to make sure your Buds have a snug, secure fit.

  1. Choose the right ear tip size
Try the different sizes included with your Buds.
The correct size should feel snug and block outside sound.

  2. Adjust the Buds in your ear
Rotate or reposition until you feel a tight seal.
You should feel a slight “suction” when the seal is correct.

  3. Check at your usual listening volume
Play your audio at your normal level.
If the seal is good, the sound should be clear and consistent.
