Advanced Settings for Audeara Buds
The Advanced Settings screen displays the default configuration applied to Audeara Buds. These settings can be adjusted to better suit individual client needs before confirming the fitting.
Once a client’s audiometric air conduction thresholds have been entered into the Audiogram screen, you can proceed to Advanced Settings.
The Advanced Settings screen changes based on the connected Audeara device so clinicians only see relevant settings, keeping the fitting process clear and efficient.

Device Setup – Touch Controls

Audeara Buds include touch controls on the outside of each bud, allowing users to:
-
Switch between listening modes
-
Pause, play or skip media
-
Answer or hang up phone calls
This feature is enabled by default. To disable touch controls, switch the toggle in the Device Setup section to Disabled.
Ambient Sound Settings

The Ambient Sound section controls how external sounds are heard while using Aware and Speech listening modes.
By default, personalisation based on the audiogram is enabled, meaning ambient sounds are tuned to the client’s hearing profile. This can be disabled by switching the toggle to Disabled.
Ambient Volume
Ambient Volume sets the default listening level for ambient sound.
After fitting, users can still adjust volume using:
-
Controls on the charging case
-
Audeara Tune mobile app
Streamed Media Settings

The Streamed Media section controls how streamed audio such as music, phone calls, video and other media is heard across all listening modes.
Personalisation based on the audiogram is enabled by default. This can be disabled by switching the toggle to Disabled if required.
Equaliser Settings

The Equaliser controls ambient passthrough sound personalisation, not media playback. These settings are used to fine tune how ambient sound is heard in Aware and Speech modes.
Enabling Equaliser Adjustment
To adjust passthrough EQ in the bottom section, ensure the Equaliser toggle is enabled.
Band Display Mode
You can choose how many frequency bands are available for adjustment:
- Passthrough fine tuning: 3 bands per ear (default)
- Passthrough fine tuning – Advanced: 8 bands per ear
- Passthrough fine tuning – Professional: 16 bands per ear

Linking Left and Right Ears
By default, both ears are synchronised so changes apply equally. This can be changed by clicking on the "link" icon to disable the Synchronised left and right ear equaliser switch, allowing each ear to be adjusted independently.
Note:
- EQ adjustments made in AudAssist do not appear in the Audeara Tune mobile app.
- If the client adjusts EQ settings in the app later, app settings overwrite clinic EQ adjustments.
Default Noise Reduction Level

This setting controls how strongly background noise is reduced in listening modes. Clients can later adjust these settings in the Audeara Tune mobile app if needed.
Aware Mode
Default noise reduction is Low, allowing users to clearly hear their surroundings.
Speech Mode
Default noise reduction is Higher, helping reduce background noise so speech is easier to focus on.
